David Hilbert gave a lecture at the 1930 Kongress of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Naturforscher und Ärzte.
Afterward he read on the German radio a four-minute version of his speech’s finale, containing the famous words: Für uns gibt es kein Ignorabimus. Wir müssen wissen, wir werden wissen.
