Νιγηριανός καθηγητής παρουσίασε μαθηματική λύση της εικασίας του Riemann

A Nigerian Professor Presents a Mathematical Solution of 156 - year-old Riemann Hypothesis
Dr Opeyemi Enoch, a Nigerian professor, believes he has finally found solution of one of the seven millennium problems in mathematics that had been puzzling scholars for the past 156 years.
Riemann Hypothesis was first proposed by German mathematician Bernhard Riemann in 1859. Dr Enoch, who teaches mathematics at Federal University in the city of Oye Ekiti, presented his findings at the International Conference of Mathematics and Computer Science in Austria, Vienna, exactly 156 years after the problem was put forward by Riemann.

According to BBC, Dr Enoch's accomplishment could earn him a $1 million prize if it is confirmed that he is the world' first person to provide a solution for Riemann Hypothesis.

Dr Enoch has worked on a number of research projects including the mathematical models for generating electricity from thunder, sound, and ocean bodies.

The Clay Mathematical Institute (CMI), in Massachusetts, considers seven millennium problems as the "most difficult" problems to solve. CMI is working to encourage and support talented students pursue mathematical studies. The institute also recognizes extraordinary achievements in mathematics.

"As a matter of policy, the CMI does not comment on solutions to the Millennium Problems." said a spokesperson for the CMI.

The CMI spokesperson also revealed that the Riemann Hypothesis was formulated in Riemann's 1859 paper and states that "all the 'non-obvious' zeros of the zeta function are complex numbers with real part 1/2."

Robert Elder, a software engineer, said that the complicated Riemann conundrum "is based on an observation Riemann made about the equation: Every value of the equation that makes it go to zero seems to lie on the exact same line."

A statement from Federal University said that Dr Enoch "first investigated and then established the claims of Riemann." He also corrected several misconceptions that were communicated by several researchers in the past decades. Correcting the misconceptions helped Dr Enoch in establishing his proofs.

"He revealed how these solutions are applicable in cryptography, quantum information science and in quantum computers." the statement said.
